Frequently Asked Questions

Jane Pritchard, Events Executive

"I help organise Breast Cancer Campaign's events, including wear it pink. Last year, I completed the Three Peaks Challenge which involved climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours. It was tough, but our team really pulled together and we had the experience of a lifetime.

Last year was my first wear it pink. We had lots of fun Friday activities in the office for wear it pink day including a raffle, a bake-off, manicures and best dressed competition. I held an afternoon tea with some sparkly pink cakes for my friends as well."

Dr Jennifer Quinn, Scientist funded by Campaign in 2001 and 2007

"My research, which is made possible by the money raised by events like wear it pink, investigates the relationship between a breast cancer gene and its effect on the response to certain breast cancer treatments.

In my spare time, I also fundraise for the charity and have organised several Belfast marathon relay teams. This year, my girls relay team raised £2,100 and we enjoyed it so much we are going make it an annual event. Last October, we all took part in wear it pink. Everyone wore pink for the day and we also held a pink cake sale."

Faye Golding, Communications Assistant

"My job is to promote Breast Cancer Campaign's work and keep our supporters updated with the charity's news, events and achievements. Last year, I did two challenges to raise money for breast cancer research – I ran in the adidas Women's 5k Challenge in September and took the plunge in October by doing a skydive - and yes I was wearing pink!"

Laurence Byrne, Community Assistant

"As a member of Breast Cancer Campaign's fundraising department, I work with all the wonderful groups, schools and individuals who support the charity. In the upcoming months, I will be doing some fundraising myself by running the Bupa Great North and Great South Runs for Campaign. I'm aiming to bring in extra money by doing the South Run in fancy dress - my costume choice is still to be confirmed!"
