What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a brilliant way of increasing the value of your donation at no cost to yourself.
Anyone who is a UK income tax payer can reclaim the basic rate of tax on their donation, which means that for every £1 donated, Breast Cancer Now will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you have given.
It doesn’t cost you a penny more and the additional support will help to fund Breast Cancer Now’s vital work; making a difference to the lives of even more people affected by breast cancer.
So please pop your Gift Aid form with your collection box and remember to encourage everyone who donates to your wear it pink day to tick the Gift Aid column on your Gift Aid form and provide their full name, house number and postcode (home address only please).
To qualify for Gift Aid you must be a UK tax payer and pay an amount of Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax each tax year (6 April – 5 April) at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
If you are the wear it pinkday organiser, please note that HMRC do not allow Gift Aid claims of one total amount that you have collected in and added to the form. Please encourage anyone who has donated to your collection to add their details to the Gift Aid form for the individual amount they donated.
You can let us know at any time whether you are eligible for Gift Aid or not by getting in touch with our Supporter Care Team:
email at email@example.com or by phoning 0333 20 70 300.

Will the Covid-19 outbreak mean changes to wear it pink?
The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on our ability to deliver the progress and support that so many people affected by breast cancer rely on us for.
But breast cancer hasn’t stopped for this pandemic. Over the past year, people have been diagnosed with the disease at a time when everything from treatment to screenings have been disrupted.
This has only made us more determined to make sure we’re there to provide support for now and hope for the future. Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink will be back to add to the £36 million we’ve raised so far, as we follow government guidelines above all else.
It’s never been more important to wear it pink.
