Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now – uniting to create one charity for everyone affected by breast cancer
A message from Delyth about Breast Cancer Now merging with Breast Cancer Care in 2019 to create the UK’s first comprehensive breast cancer charity.
To all our wonderful wear it pink supporters, I wanted to share with you the exciting news that in April 2019 we’re merging with Breast Cancer Care, who provide support for people across the UK living with and beyond breast cancer.
I truly believe that by taking this ambitious opportunity to connect the UK’s largest breast cancer research community with the UK’s largest breast cancer support community, we can make sure that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and receive the support they need to live well now.
Right now, well over half a million people are living with the devastating impact of breast cancer. And if that wasn’t heart-breaking enough, by the end of the year we’ll have lost around 11,500 more lives to the disease. By merging with Breast Cancer Care, we’re rising to the challenge, together.
From research to care, our new charity will have patients at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we’ll have the ability to carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign more effectively for better services, care and research.
While some things may change, many things will stay the same. You’ll still be part of our incredible breast cancer family. But we’ll be a stronger, more united voice for everyone affected by the disease. And we’ll still need you to support us in all the ways you currently do, now more than ever. It’s thanks to your amazing support that we’re able to take this bold leap forward.
