Solo wear it pink fundraising!
Our three tips for taking part in wear it pink on your own.
If you’re not quite up to organising a wear it pink event, but would still love to be involved in some way – don’t worry, we’ve got you sorted! No matter what you’re doing or how many people are involved, you can always help fund cutting-edge breast cancer research and provide life-changing care and support for those affected by breast cancer.
Here are some ideas on how you can wear it pink with me, myself and I.
1. Do a sponsored challenge
Ever fancied dying your hair a fabulous shade of pink? Would you like to shave your head in solidarity with those going through treatment? There are so many ways that you can raise money, by getting your friends and family to sponsor you as you do something out of the ordinary. The sky is the limit, but here are a few of our favourite ideas.
- Dying your hair pink
- Shaving your head (make sure you have a good think before you do this one)
- Go a whole month or week wearing only pink
- Boycott a luxury item for a period of time: social media, sweets or coffee
- A sponsored walk, cycle or hula-hooping competition
Get creative and do something different this Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Use
Just Giving (see next point) to collect the cash.
2. Set up a Just Giving page
Got an online group that you’d like to fundraise with? Set up a wear it pink
Just Giving page, and ask for your friends and family to contribute a donation, as you wear pink. Don’t forget to share your fundraising on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and email – turn your social media pink! Remember, every penny matters so no amount is too little or too big. We value all types of fundraising!
3. Wear pink wherever you are, and make a donation
If everyone is busy and unable to make it to your wear it pink event – that’s okay, we still want to wear it pink with you on 22 October. Choose your most fabulous pink outfit, and wear it pink 22 October: whether you’re staying in, going to work or school. Tell everyone why you’re wearing pink and help us raise awareness about checking breast for any signs of change, and about our life-changing support services. Share a pink selfie, Tweet about it and remember to tag @breastcancernow and use the tag #wearitpink Then, make a one-off donation for wear it pink here.
No matter how you choose to fundraise, we are so grateful! If you need any help, we’d love to chat – email us at email@example.com or call us on 0333 20 70 300.
