Money making inspiration
Here are a few money-making ideas for your wear it pink event…
Matched funding is a very simple idea – you get someone to agree to match the money you raise, usually pound-for-pound. This means that you could end up with up to double the donation you began with.
Talk to your boss about matched funding
The most common form of matched funding is asking your manager, boss or company to match the fundraising you’ll raise from your wear it pink event. We recommend you chat with your boss about your fundraising plans well before the day to see if matched funding is something that your company can provide.
It doesn’t have to be pound-for-pound
Once you’ve got the go ahead from your boss or manager, you can carry on as normal organising your fabulous wear it pink fundraising day. Keep in mind that your company might already have a policy for matched funding, so make sure you ask.
Not all companies will be able to support you pound-for-pound or penny-for-penny, but they might be able to help by matching you up to a certain amount or matching 50% of what you fundraise. Any help is always appreciated, and every donation matters.
When your wear it pink day is over, it’s time to collect and pay in your donation. Your manager might need some proof of your donation to us which we’re more than happy to provide for you – just email us at email@example.com or call us on 0333 20 70 300.
Depending on what you or your boss prefers, you can either pay in the lump sum or pay it in two instalments. Then we’ll send you out a certificate with the combined total of your fundraising for wear it pink 2018!
By using Gift Aid, you can increase your donation amount by a massive 25% - at no extra cost to you!
There are Gift Aid forms in your fundraising pack, but if you need more simply download and print them from our website. Ask everyone who donates to sign up for Gift Aid if they can, following the instructions on the form.
It really will make a huge difference to the amount you raise; if you donate £2, we’ll receive an extra 50p. So, it’s a great way to boost your fundraising and help us raise even more money for our life-saving breast cancer research.
Fundraising games are a great way to have fun and engage people at your wear it pink event. Even better, they’re a fun and easy way to raise lots of money at your fundraising event!
You can read about our favourite games and activities here, and can download things like quizzes, bingo and sweepstakes here. From what our amazing supporters have told us, the classic bake sale is always a huge money maker, so we’d recommend you ask some people to help you bake some yummy cakes and bakes for your wear it pink day.
There’s lots we can help you with, but we also love seeing what wild and wonderful games you come up with!
Raffles are a fantastic way of boosting your fundraising at an event. Whilst the actual raffle won’t take very long to set up it can take a bit of a time to collect raffle prizes. First you’ll need some raffle prizes, and the best way to get prizes is to ask for donations from local businesses, friends and family. This could be anything from a voucher, tickets to see a play, a food hamper, a donated cake or an hours’ worth of cleaning.
You may need a letter of authority from us – if you do, just pop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. There are different legal requirements depending on the kind of raffle or competition you run, so make sure you check out the UK Gambling Commission before you get started.
It’s really that simple – ask your friends, students or colleagues to pay some money (we suggest £2 - £5) to sport as much pink as they like on wear it pink day. A small price to pay for such a fun day, but if everyone does it, then it will make a big difference.
You can even go one step further by having prizes for the best dressed person, team or class – or simply the person who wore the most amount of pink!
