Getting to know Sarah
I’m very passionate about keeping fit and go to the gym daily. I’m also passionate about making unforgettable memories with friends and family and spending time with my husband whether it be cooking or going out socialising. In my spare time, I love taking pictures, painting and making jewellery. I love to dance. No matter where I am, if the music is right, I’m up!
Above anyone else, I am inspired by my mum. She hasn’t suffered from breast cancer but she has suffered from another type of cancer. She is still with us 22 years on!
Why I wear it pink
I choose to wear pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month because both my mother-in-law and husband’s gran have both had breast cancer in the past. Thankfully both are now fighting fit.
Getting involved at work
As I work in retail, I have taken part in various charity events throughout my career. Wear it pink is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness and money for a great cause. This year I wanted to get even more involved by being a wear it pink ambassador.
The more people that take part, the more aware people are of breast cancer and the efforts of charities who want to stop breast cancer taking lives. It will help to raise money towards life-saving research. It’s also a great way to bond with colleagues, friends and family while having a fun day.
Sarah’s advice to fundraisers
If I could give people advice about their wear it pink event it would be to it advertise it well, be organised in advance and just have fun!
